India vs New Zealand – 1st Test Match

New zealand suffered a big loss today in the first test match at Seddon Park, Hamilton following their defeat in the one day internationals against india and losing the series.

The Hamilton pitch was a batting beauty track and it had only a little bit of grass to help the bowlers but the New Zealand top order batting didnot capitalise and didnt string up partnertships and were reduced to 60 for 6 by lunch on the first day of play .

But Captain Daniel Vettori and Jesse Ryder then came in to the act by putting a partnership of 186-runs and that thing only helped them to reach a total of 279 in the first innings.Daniel Vettori and Jesse Ryder ,both of them scored a century in the first innings.

Zaheer Khan,Ishant Sharma,Munaf all the seemers bowled a probing line and length .For india Gautam Gambhir and Rahul dravid played a steady knock and that partnership between them helped the rest of the indian batsmen to relax and play but the day really belonged to the master batsman sachin tendulkar where he scored 160 runs and took the indians to mammoth total of 520 in the first innings.

MS Dhoni and zaheer khan played small cameos ,While Zaheer Khan got to his third test 50 in the process.India got a overall lead of 241 runs.When Nz’s started to play their second innings disappointment only resulted for their fans as their batsmen failed to make a mark once again.



Brendon McCullum alone survived the bowling attack of the indian bowlers and went on to score 84 .The kiwi’s ended their second innings with a total of 279 on the board the indian batsmen had little work to be completed that to get 39 runs for victory and they did it easily with in 5.2 overs .Harbhajan Singh was the pick among the bowlers, he took 6 wickets in the second innings .
