India lose series against south africa

24 Jan

Indian batsmen didn’t play up to their potential in the crucial decider against south africa. The indian batsmen had no answers against the pace attack of the south africans and continued to play poor shots eventually which ended up in a score of 119-8 .

Yusuf pathan and zaheer khan held hands together and stringed up a partner ship of hundred runs.Yusuf Pathan threatened to single-handedly pull off a sensational victory with a brutal 70-ball 105 which included eight sixes and eight fours he didn’t have any half measures and plundered the south african bowling attack.

The sad thing over here is no batsmen really wanted to indulge in a partnership everyone were skying the ball which eventually resulted in them returning back to the pavillion ,had one batsmen stayed there along with yusuf pathan it would have been a different story with india lifting the cup.But no one other batsman had the patience and yusuf was battling it alone in the middle and eventually got out when tyring to hit a huge one against morne morkel.

A challenging score but not an impossible one and i have no clue why indian batsmen chose only two seamers in their team out of which zaheer scored 24 runs ,which is the third highest score in the team after yusuf and parthiv patel 🙂

SriLanka Wins Micromax Cup

srilanka vs india

Sri Lankan captain Kumara Sangakara won the toss and decided to bat first. His decision gave him a fruitful result when Sri Lankan opener started thrashing Indian bowlers from the starting of the game. With the help of 1st wicket partnership of above 100 runs Lankans started very well in the final match. Indian bowlers were trying hard for the breakthrough in the game

Finally, it was provided by Ishant Sharma when he sent back Jayawrdene on 39 runs. Dilshan scored 110 runs and the other batsman down the order stringed good partnerships which lead to the score of 299 runs on dambulla which was looking almost impossible for Indian team to chase.

Chasing a target of 300 runs, India again started off their innings very badly and lost early wickets in the game. There was lot of expectations from Sehwag but he departed earlier in the match. Dhoni, Raina and Kohli tried their best to stand on the crease but it was not India’s day as Lankans won the match by 74 runs. Indian team was bowled out at 225 runs in 46.5 overs. Dilshan was declared as man of the match.

WE ARE BACK BABY-Chennai super kings

Chennai super kings

Chennai super kings

I am so happy that chennai super kings are back on track even though they lost quite a few matches but all they lost were tightly fought close matches.

But once again they proved that they are the real super kings by beating the rajasthan royals in a comfortable way ,Glorious 38 runs victory against the last year champions and also they have won five matches in a trot making their way almost to the semi final.

They are in the second position in the league table now but have more matches to go and they are in the top gear, so there’s no stopping.

Is it dhoni’s captaincy or is it the team’s effort that makes them come out of any situation is the million dollar question. But the truth is it’s dhoni who just helds them all in to a single group and who makes them perform he stands before them as a perfect example about how to handle pressure situations.

Not to forget hayden who is just giving the perfect start to the superkings that any team would dare to have and along with raina and badrinath also joining the party the superkings just rock and have the highest net run rate ahead of any team.

So the stage is all set and when mike hussey enters in to the team the chennai super kings will have the perfect team composition that any other team would dare to play against. And they are in the perfect rhythm of grabbing the title this time which they narrowly lost last time.

India vs Newzealand (first twenty20)

26 Feb

In the first twenty20 match against newzealand, india lost the toss and was put to bat first.India had a brisk start with sehwag hitting three sixer’s in the first over of the match and everyone thought that india would score heaps of runs in the first innings.

But things started to go worse as opener gautham gambhir soon fell but sehwag continued to score his runs in a flury and soon fell for 26 runs after that india started to dig it’s own burrow with yuvraj, dhoni, rohit sharma all of them returning to the pavillion soon.

India had little hope that it will even cross the 150 run mark. But suresh raina helped india reach a total of 162 his 61 runs.Yusuf pathan and harbhajan singh played little cameos along with suresh raina with a figthing total of 162 on the board indian’s came to the field with large amount of hope on ishanth and zaheer khan .

But even though they bowled brilliantly the kiwis played it sensible by tagging partnerships of 54, 50 and 60. Mccullum played till the end and made sure that the kiwis reach home. McCullum is the Man of the Match. He calls his innings ‘ugly’ and says he never really got used to the pace of the track. He says he was lucky Guptill, Taylor and Oram scored at a quick pace.

Ever since M S Dhoni got a circumstantial chance to become a captain of India for 20-20 world cup in South Africa, it must have surprised Dhoni himself also. Dhoni is a very lucky person too. He won that 20-20 world cup, in similar condition in which he got captaincy. Cricket fans were very very angry with senior players, especially India’s dismal performance in 2007 world cup in West Indies. Fans wanted young players, under young captain. There were three choice for selectors, Sehwag, Yuvraj and Dhoni. Sehwag was out of form. Yuvraj was not considered a serious contender, due to his indifferent behavior, hence Dhoni got a chance to become captain of India. In South Africa he won two group matches, one each against Pakistan and England. Against Pakistan India won, on the basis of “ball out” and against England, due to that famous Yuvraj’s six sixes in a Stuart Board’s over( Yuvraj scored 14 ball 58 runs). Even in the final India won against Pakistan by mere 5 runs, Pakistan lost that match due to nonsensical batting by Pakistani batsman, particularly by Misbah. In a nutshell, that 20-20 world cup victory was not achieved due to Dhoni’s leadership skill, but was won by some individual brilliance of Yuvraj, Gambhir and Sehwag, and also bit of luck factor and also due to mistakes by opposite side. Indian media at that very moment started, projecting him as a future captain. Dhoni is a smart guy, he show a opportunity and he grabbed it with both hands.
